Stages of Development in a Believer

Stages of Development in a Believer

Some people say: “Why should I go to church?  People are just as bad in the church as they are outside the church.  They think of the church as being a building and a sign outside with the pastor’s name.  The sign usually will tell you the name of a denomination where you can decide if you believe the same thing they believe.  Then there are signs that will call themselves a Christian center and you must go in and guess how they believe.  The true church is made of people with God living inside of them and is a gathering together of like-minded, people in one accord.

(1 Cor. 6-19).  Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

If the same Holy Spirit lives in the believer and they listen to Him, then why are the believers not as one?  Why is there so much turmoil in the church?  Why are there so many nuts and flakes in the church?  The reason is that the believer’s soul (mind, will, emotions and five senses) has to be trained with the word of God in order to communicate with his spirit.

In order to understand the believer, we must recognize that there are stages of development in the believer.  It does not come with physical age or even how long you have been a believer or even a position you hold in a group.  These stages are:
  1. Babes,
  2. Children,
  3. Sons/Daughters of God
  4. And Fathers and Mothers in the faith.

The characteristic of a baby Christian is that he is innocent.  He is beginning a new life.  He is ignorant.  He has to rely on someone else to feed and take care of his every need.  If they do not, he will die.  He is irritable.  Babies are easily distracted, easily frustrated and easily hurt.  This is a critical stage of a Christian because it is forming his character.  It is said that the personality of a baby is developed in his first 2 years of his life.   It is very important what a baby Christian is being taught because this forms his thinking in the future. 1 Cor. 13:11

The characteristic of child of God is that he is unreliable.  Children have a short attention span.  They have to be told every day what to do and have a lack of discipline.    A child is curious.  Children are like cats.  If a cat stays in the house he will want to see in every closet and under every bed.  If you say no to a child too much, it will become dung in his ears and will agitate him until he experiments for himself.  Another characteristic of a child is that he has foolish talk/vain speaking.

Eph 5:3-4 But fornication and all uncleanness or coveteousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints4neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.

If you have ever had a teenager, he will react to everything that is said to him by his peers.  Some people never leave their children and teenage years.

The characteristic of a Son (no gender in the Spirit) of God is described in

Romans 8:13-17. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

The apostle Paul encouraged the Christians at Rome to live not “according to the flesh,” but “by the Spirit,” because those who “are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God”.  This Christian will recognize that he has come through the other stages that we discussed and will judge no one when he sees them mess up, he will try to help them.  Psalm 1:1:3 describes a Son of God like this:

Psalm 1:1-3 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night.  He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

The last stage, although we never reach perfection this side of heaven, is Fathers and Mothers, the reproducers, mentoring someone else in the faith. That is what fulfilling the Great Commission is all about, making disciples

Let’s desire the pure milk of the Word, grow up to eat the Meat of the Word, and become the mature church having a spiritual senses discerned.

Hebrews 5: 13For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. 14But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

3 Stages of Self

The Three Stages of Self

We have, in fact, to pass through three phases in our attitude towards and understanding of ourselves. We start life by

  1. a false attempt at self-appreciation. We try to make out we are all right: "going about to establish our own righteousness", the Bible calls it. That finishes when we become honest about ourselves in the sight of God, and our repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ is an end to our false self-appreciation.

This is followed by often a long period of

  1. self depreciation
As new-born Christians, we are making the discovery that it is not in redeemed self, any more than it was in unredeemed self, to be what we should be. So we are much more conscious of our failings, our inadequate human selves, than we are of Christ in us. We condemn ourselves, we stress our weaknesses, we speak of our hunger and need, our inadequate love for God, our sins. We say that if God does anything with our lives, it is in spite of us (whereas in fact it is because of us), and so forth. This is the phase of temporary self-depreciation, necessary for us to learn the truth about ourselves, but only temporary.

The third and final phase is

  1. rightful self-appreciation. From false self-appreciation, through temporary self-depreciation, to true self-appreciation. This is when in the union we have found for ever we are only the vessels that contain God; but we are vessels, and more, we are vessels who are really persons; and our humanity is now the self-expression of the Living God. We are the light of the world. We are the eternal love in action. The center of our inner consciousness has moved over from self-depreciation to God-appreciation and thus to self-appreciation. It is a significant proof that we have not life yet in gear, we have not yet come full circle, when our normal reactions in situations are to emphasize our weakness and need rather than our ability.

"I can do all things," said Paul. "We are more than conquerors," said Paul again. "We are well able to overcome it," said Caleb. "I am full of power," said Micah. But in each case they added that it was "through Christ", or "by the Spirit of the Lord", or some such statement. However, the primary emphasis was not on Him in them, but on themselves, and they "able ministers of the new covenant"-through Him. Their emphasis was not on their weakness but on their strength-by Him. This is the true self-affirmation. As He is so am I in this world!

(1Jn 4:17)  In this is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, that as He is, so also we are in this world.

GOD'S REST IN OUR TOTAL SPIRIT, SOUL AND BODY.

GOD'S REST IN OUR TOTAL SPIRIT, SOUL AND BODY.

(Heb 4:9-11)  So then there remains a rest to the people of God. For he who has entered into his rest, he also has ceased from his own works, as God did from His. Therefore let us labor to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall after the same example of unbelief.

True Authority is walking with HIM in ETERNITY NOW. We are in this physical world, but not of this physical world ''in spirit''; our spirit is eternal, timeless and ageless (one with God) and our soul/mind is being renewed/transformed to the same understanding of the CHRIST MIND to be ''instructed'' by it, the PERFECT SPIRIT/MIND/SOUL THAT IS ETERNAL, TIMELESS AND AGELESS...

Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him (satan and the curse) by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.= TRUE AUTHORITY

satan and the curse only has authority over someone who LOVES HIS LIFE IN THE TIME MINDED WORLD TO SAVE HIMSELF BY IT AND PUT HIS TRUST IN THIS BABYLON BUILT TIME MINDED WORLD, A FALSE AUTHORITY.

TO CONTINUALLY THINK YOUR SALVATION IS IN THE FUTURE TOMORROWS you keep building to get there is a lie of slavery and a false authority to conquer this world by......WHILE TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION IN THE ETERNAL, TIMELESS AND AGELESS MIND OF CHRIST.

''It is finished already''; tomorrows false thinking to build a future salvation of your soul on has already passed away WHEN JESUS DELIVERED US FROM THIS FALLEN ADAMIC WORLD. ADAM/CAIN HAD TO START BUILDING BY THE SWEAT OF THE BROW .

God/Jesus finished (ended) all of HIS WORKS from the foundation of the world...to continue to build another world outside of God' perfect world he created and HE is still living in this PERFECT WORLD OF REST can only be done in a Babylon built time minded world in the soul and mind of man to be a slave to it...

THIS FALSE SPIRIT WORLD USURPS ITSELF IN ''SELF AUTHORITY'' OVER GOD' FINISHED WORLD AND STEALS. KILLS AND DESTROYS CREATION TO BUILD IT IN THE MIND OF MEN...ON THE EARTH.

Babylon is fallen is fallen is a time minded world of slavery that is a shaky foundation to build your life on...it separates you from God's world he is still resting in and we are to labor to enter into that rest with him...this laboring is us diligently pursuing HIM AND HIS REST (Hebrews 4: 9-12) to enter in...in this pursuing God as Enoch did to enter back into the rest of God/Jesus that was finished from the foundation of the world...

This FINISHED WORD OF GOD is sharper than any two edged sword ad it will discern what is in the thoughts and intents of the heart to separate the soul and spirit and to remove all thoughts that are contrary to the finished word world of God out of your soul so that you can ENTER INTO HIS REST THAT WAS FINISHED FROM THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD AS IT SAYS IN HEBREWS 4; 3...

Egyptians BUILT BY THE SWEAT OF THE BROW IN SLAVERY TO IT...they had become INSTITUTIONALIZED TO DOING TIME IN THEIR MINDS AS A PRISONER IN A JAIL DOES..
TO BUILD ANOTHER WORLD OUTSIDE OF THE FINISHED WORD WORLD OF GOD HERE ON THE EARTH IS TO USURP THE FINISHED AUTHORITY OVER CREATION GOD IS SETTING AT REST IN...AND IT IS TO DIE IN YOUR BODY AS THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL DID...TO ENTER INTO THE HIS REST IS NOT TO DIE IN YOUR BODY AS ENOCH DID NOT DIE....THIS END OF TIME ENOCH AND ELIJAH REMNANT IS AWAKENING. ELIJAH DID NOT DIE IN HIS BODY EITHER...AND HIS HOLY SPIRIT OF FIRE HAS RETURNED TO TAKE US ON INTO THE REST...

WE HAVE COME ON THIS EARTH AND MANIFESTED IN A FLESH AND ONE BODY TO FULFILL OUR DESTINY.

WE LOVE NOT OUR LIVES UNTO DEATH (GIVE UP SELF) IN THIS TIME MINDED WORLD SO THAT THE ETERNAL, TIMELESS AND AGELESS LIFE OF JESUS CAN BE MADE MANIFEST IN OUR MORTAL BODIES...

WHILE WE LOOK NOT AT THIS TEMPORAL WORLD OF TIME BUT WE LOOK AT THE ETERNAL, TIMELESS AND AGELESS  FINISHED WORD WORLD OF GOD TO BE CHANGED IN OUR THINKING TO IT...

THIS IS THE TRUE ETERNAL, TIMELESS AND AGELESS AUTHORITY OF GOD' REST IN OUR TOTAL SPIRIT, SOUL AND BODY...

TO BE PRESERVED BLAMELESS ON THE EARTH AT HIS FULL COMING WITHIN US....THE MIND OF CHRIST FULLY TAKING US OVER...BY OUR PURSUIT OF HIM IN TRUE WORSHIP....COME TO ME MY BRIDE SAYS THE LORD OF HOST....IT IS FINISHED...''ENTER INTO MY REST NOW''

Christ has finished all the works Available in order to Please God. all that remains is therefore.......................................... REST. I've found out that Rest is Hard work for most people.
I  cease from my own works and enter into the rest of God. YES!

To the church in Colossae he wrote of''...the mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and generations, but has now been manifested to His saints, to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.'' (Colossians 1:25-27) Christ in us.
That is our only expectation of experiencing and expressing the glory of God. Elsewhere, Paul expressed the mystery in another way:’ But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him.'' We are one spirit with God. We function as one. We are not absorbed into the Lord, however. There is an I and there is a He, but we are joined to Him and we function as one. Until we know and live out of our union with Christ, we will never fully manifest the life of God within us. Some of it will inevitably shine through now and then, despite us. But for the most part we will manifest our own merely human life.
Until we know union, we are constantly confronted by the illusion of separation. ''God is up there; I am down here. How do I draw close to God? Give me a plan. Give me a program' Plenty of people are ready with the answers. ''Read your Bible. Pray. Study. Witness. Tithe. Take communion. Here are the plans. Here are the programs."
But once you know your union with God, there's nothing left for you to do. Oh, you may still do some of the outer things. But you aren't doing them to get close to God. You and God are one. There is no more separation. We live and move and have our being in God, who is our life. We are saved by His life. He is our life. Christ lives out His life in us. We have all kinds of different shapes, forms, and fashions, all kinds of interests, all kinds of diversity, and all kinds of uniqueness.
Praise the Lord. We don't have to look like, act like, talk like, or be like anybody else again. We are free to be ourselves. People see us, but we know it's Jesus living through us.

NEW DAY

A NEW DAY

As Lucinda Evans Said:

Jesus said 'take no thought for tomorrow, for tomorrow will care for itself'. New Years Day is a mark for the world, but as a believer, we live in the eternal day with our Father, being timeless. Our attitudes do not change by the marking of time, rather we growing up into the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

Everyday is a new day, a new beginning for believers.

The Old Covenant that was Established on 10 Commandments, many laws and whose benefits depended on the works of man. But a New one has come established on the works of Jesus and His indestructible Life,
You are free from works, Christ has purchased your full freedom AND YOU WILL NEVER BE CONDEMNED Again!
Grace Rules
Grace was not an addition to law in order to make it less burdensome! it was God's intent all the way. for the law in fact lead us here. The system of the law was totally replaced! It's Grace and Grace alone.
Faith is the response of your heart to God's Truth! Taking God's opinions about you as totally true!
So When I say: All things work together for My good, or I am healed; I'm not praying, or being some what 'spiritual', or talking to God. That's just what should happen and that's what is.
Heb. 6:17- God willing more abundantly to show us (heirs) the immutability of His counsel, confirmed a promise by an oath; so that by two immutable things it became impossible for  Jehovah to lie...
He came sin.. that you might become the righteousness of God
He became a curse... Now you are the blessing
He became poor that you might be rich
He became.......... this...... that you might become....... that
Jesus took our imperfections and blotted them Away...Now we are COMPLETE in Him.... without imperfections!

Anytime you say you are imperfect.... You treat the Cross in disdain and contempt!

Of course, you are being saved in the soul, coming into the knowledge, consciousness of the truth that is already there. I am coming into the knowledge of my completeness in Him.
Believe!
He became the false you so you could become the real you.
We are perfect and complete in him.
We think when we preach grace people will misbehave; but the Word says the strength of sin is the law-1Cor. 15:56. Anywhere and anytime the law is preached sin is empowered.
The things of God are NOT for "achievers" but for believers. I am a believer and therefore partake of God's things.
This is the season of forgiveness, giving, loving one another, prayer and happiness for everyone eternally.
 What about works?
A Biblical reference says, "We want to  perform God's WORKS, too. What should we do?" Jesus told them, "This is  the ONLY WORK God wants from you: BELIEVE in the one he has sent.
God's Definition of work is not actually to "do"  something but to believe.
Belief is not Cheap,
Christ has finished all the works available in order to please God. All that remains is therefore.......................................... REST. I've found out that rest is hard work for most people.
I  cease from my own works and enter into the rest of God. YES!
I don't believe in impossibilities;  it may seem hard, uneasy for others, but for me it turns around... For all things are POSSIBLE TO HIM THAT BELIEVES.
When things go bad,.. Its not because I didn't pray, fast, or sin, or God is angry or even because I believe in God... No!... I don't believe in MYSELF, who I am and what has already been done.
The New Creation is not an association of people who shout the blood of Jesus or go to church, but God living on earth in His Fullness, Visibly, Eternally!
I am  God’s expression. I am not serving God.
I give expression to Him!
God is not lacking servants.
If you were working to get to Heaven, just stop and be happy for you have arrived.
The terminus of Life Is NOT Heaven...
But IMMORTALITY
You Arrived Heaven When You Got Born Again
Col 1v12.

(Col 1:12)  giving thanks to the Father, who has made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light.

(Fallen)Man Lived over 900 years Outside His True Habitation!... Wow!
I am in Christ... And In Him I have my Being!-

What do you think is life expectancy for the New Creation? A New Day everyday, a New Year every day, Eternally!
New Years Day is a mark for the world, but as a believer, we live in the eternal day with our Father, being timeless. Our attitudes do not change by the marking of time, rather we growing up into the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

Prophetic Joy by guest- Kathy Essig

Prophetic Joy Prophetic Joy is a feeling of celebrating God's presence, even when there is longing. It's a type of joy that can ...
