42ND GENERRATION

42ND GENERATION

Matthew 1:1-15
The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham:2 Abraham begot Isaac, Isaac begot Jacob, and Jacob begot Judah and his brothers.3 Judah begot Perez and Zerah by Tamar, Perez begot Hezron, and Hezron begot Ram.4 Ram begot Amminadab, Amminadab begot Nahshon, and Nahshon begot Salmon.5 Salmon begot Boaz by Rahab, Boaz begot Obed by Ruth, Obed begot Jesse,6 and Jesse begot David the king. 1 David the king begot Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah.7 Solomon begot Rehoboam, Rehoboam begot Abijah, and Abijah begot Asa.8 Asa begot Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat begot Joram, and Joram begot Uzziah.9 Uzziah begot Jotham, Jotham begot Ahaz, and Ahaz begot Hezekiah.10 Hezekiah begot Manasseh, Manasseh begot Amon, and Amon begot Josiah.11 Josiah begot Jeconiah and his brothers about the time they were carried away to Babylon.12 And after they were brought to Babylon, Jeconiah begot Shealtiel, and Shealtiel begot Zerubbabel.13 Zerubbabel begot Abiud, Abiud begot Eliakim, and Eliakim begot Azor.14 Azor begot Zadok, Zadok begot Achim, and Achim begot Eliud.15 Eliud begot Eleazar, Eleazar begot Matthan, and Matthan begot Jacob. 16 And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ.
V17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations. Actually from Shealtiel, Zerubbabel, Abiud, Eliakim,  Azor, Zadok, Achim, Eliud, Eleazar, Matthan, Jacob, Joseph, Jesus is 13 generations. Is there a miscount? I think not. Note who is called the Christ.

6= the number of man
7= the number of God
6x7=42
Matthew 1:17So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations, from David until the captivity in Babylon are fourteen generations, and from the captivity in Babylon until the Christ are fourteen generations.
One of the greatest failures of people in our day, as was the problem in the days when Jesus was upon the earth, was scripture interpretation.  We must come to the place where we understand that the natural mind will not understand the things of God and to approach scripture strictly from a natural fundamental interpretation is to bring for the letter and miss the Spirit of the Word.  Paul was emphatic when he stated, "Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life." 2Cor. 3:6  To find out who we really are and who Christ is IN us, we must approach the Word with a heavenly mindset.  We must call upon the one who will lead and guide us into all truth, because it is the TRUTH that MAKES US FREE!  So, is there a 42nd generation and if so, WHO IS IT if it is not Jesus!
Matthew 1:17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.
According to Mattew in the 17th verse, the total generations (14+14+14) would be 42.  But when we count the generations down through Jesus, there are only 41!  As we read the first sixteen verses of the book of Matthew we find that David was the 14th generation, from David to the Babylonian captivity made Jeconiah the 28th generation and from Jeconiah to Joseph (husband of Mary) was another 12 generations making Joseph the 40th generation. This makes Jesus, according to the generations of law, the 41st generation so where is the 42nd generation?  There seems to be a missing generation, or is there?  Note that the scripture says UNTO CHRIST!  The answer is that there is only to be one generation since Jesus and it is a nation of sons that have been coming forth since the resurrection of Christ! They are the CHRIST generation, those who are born of the Spirit of the Living God. It is an eternal generation born of the Holy Spirit of the LIVING GOD!  It is the generation of THE CHRIST! The Psalmist declared a 'seed' that would be accounted for a generation!
"A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation. They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this. Psalm 22:30-31
In this verse of scripture, the word 'Seed' is the same as 'a generation'!  Therefore we see that it is the SEED of Jesus Christ that shall declare His Generation in the earth.  But who is the SEED OF CHRIST?  If we look to a natural lineage, then we would have to say that the generations stopped in relationship to fathers and mothers bringing forth children.  We know that Man has always based descendency and generations according to the natural seed, but when God was incarnate in the flesh, He took no wife nor did He leave behind any natural children. According to the culture of man, Jesus was an utter failure because He didn't leave any seed (natural born sons) behind.  It was very important in that day for all men to have a first-born son for inheritance.  It was to the first-born that blessing and inheritance was passed.
"He was taken from prison and from judgment: and WHO SHALL DECLARE HIS GENERATION? for He was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was He stricken. And He made His grave with the wicked, and with the rich in His death; because He had done no violence, neither was any deceit in His mouth. Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him, He hath put Him to grief, when thou shalt make His soul an offering for sin, HE SHALL SEE HIS SEED, HE SHALL PROLONG HIS DAYS, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand."  Isa 53:8-10
This prophecy is called the Messianic prophecy. Jesus was cut off from the land of the living and yet the scripture declares that HIS SEED shall prolong His days!  How is this possible for the term 'PROLONG HIS DAYS' literally meant that His life would be reproduced in His generations!  If we go back to the book of Genesis there is a key that will help us to begin to understand the progeny of the Spirit.  Remember in Genesis the 3rd chapter, that God declared to the serpent "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel" (Gen. 3:15).  It would be the seed of the WOMAN, not the seed of man, that would bruise the head of the enemy and bring reconciliation to man.  And then we find in Matthew 1:18 "Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost"!  Although Joseph was the father of Jesus in the world, he was not the progenitor of Jesus.  Jesus did not come through the seed of Joseph!  He was of the seed of Mary, a child of the Holy Ghost!  He was born of the Spirit!  The ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD!
Now, let's continue to track the seed.  "Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ" (Gal. 3:16).  Now Abraham had many descendants, but the scripture declares that the promises were only made to HIS SEED, which WAS CHRIST!  So the promises were made only to ONE SEED…..CHRIST!  Then the scriptures go on to say, "And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise" (Gal. 3:29).  We see here that the seed of Abraham are those who belong to (ARE ONE WITH) Christ!
Jesus was fully God and he was fully man.  He was the FIRST BEGOTTEN from above and the first born of many brethren.  He came to bring an end to the natural lineage of the first man ADAM.  He was bringing forth a new creation in the earth, but not of the earth!  This was a generation that would be BORN AGAIN!  Isaiah declared Jesus to be THE EVERLASTING FATHER!  And as a Father, he would bring forth SONS!
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace".  Isaiah 9:6
He is called the everlasting Father because of the generation that would come forth out of Him by the Spirit through the finished work of the cross!  When the spear went into the side of Jesus, blood and water poured out of him and fell upon the earth.  In the finality of death, heaven and earth came together as one and brought forth a NEW SEED, A NEW CREATION, A SEED THAT WOULD DECLARE HIS GENERATIONS!  Out of His side (the womb of man) came the NEW WOMAN, THE CHURCH!  His seed was established upon the earth for an inheritance for eternity!
"That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind blows where it lists, and thou hears the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goes: so is every one that is born of the Spirit." John 3:6-8.
As stated in the New Birth series, the word 'born' means "to be begotten, procreated" and 'again' means "from above"!  So truly, as we come to Christ, the old creation passes away and behold all things are made new!  We are a new creation, descendants of God, THE 42nd GENERATION! And we see from the scripture that the sons of God are all numbered, "He tells the number of the stars; He calls them all by their names" (Psalm 147:4).   So we see that there is a set number!
"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:" 1Peter 2:9
There is a generation of people chosen of God in Christ to be the royal priesthood and holy nation in the earth. This generation once wandered in the darkness but now live in His light (SHEKINAH GLORY).  They are a people of understanding, a people of purpose, a people of destiny.  They have made their calling and election sure and they are ready for the culmination of all things.  We are the sovereign election of the Father before the foundation of the world.
"Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwells in mount Zion."  Isaiah 8:18
Note the word CHILDREN!  Did you know that you are a sign and a wonder?  Why?  Because your lineage is of the Spirit and you are the children, the descendants of the Lord!  WE ARE MOUNT ZION – PEOPLE OF GOD!  WE ARE THE NEW JERUSALEM – THE LAMB’S WIFE – THE CITY OF THE LIVING GOD!  We are the body of Christ, the fullness of Him that fills all in all (Eph. 1:22-23).  Just as Jesus was the express image of the Father in the earth, so we are the express image of Jesus in the earth!  A NEW GENERATION is in the earth born not of natural man!  But we are a heavenly people born of an INCORRUPTIBLE SEED!  We are the PROGENY OF GOD THE SON, THE WORD WHO BECAME FLESH AND DWELT AMONG US!
"And He said unto me, It is done. I AM ALPHA AND OMEGA, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. HE THAT OVERCOMETH shall inherit all things; and I will be HIS GOD, and HE SHALL BE MY SON."  Rev. 21:6-7

CROSSING THE BRIDGE INTO YOUR FUTURE

Crossing the Bridge to Your Future
Life Lessons to Stay on Track

     1. Let Criticism Develop You--Not Detour or Devour You.

Jesus’s Temptation was filled with criticism (Matthew 4) Matthew 5:44 Bless those who curse you....

You will be criticized so might as well be criticized for doing something worthwhile.

     2. Determine to See the Virtue in Patience.

Patience Truths

A seed takes time to produce.
You reap if you faint not
Knowing what you are to do is only half the equation. The other is knowing who you are and who Christ is in you.
There are times and seasons for everything.

James 1:4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

    3. Never Stop Learning!

When you stop learning you stop living. You become a reservoir instead of a river.

Rom 1:22 Professing to be wise, they became fools,

Knowledge
Spiritual Understanding
Wisdom

Prov. 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all  your getting get understanding.

REMEMBER THE POWER OF INVESTMENT IN ALL AREAS OF LIFE!

Eph 1:15 Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe,

     4. Be a Servant

Phil 2:3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

     5. Keep First Things First

Matthew 6:33
God
Spouse
Children
Vocation/Ministry

6. Let Your Future Have Words

Call things that are not as though they were.

SPEAK INTO YOUR DESTINY
Today let us DECREE together that we are BOUND to the KINGDOM of GOD and LOOSED into our DESTINY!!!

Spiritual Senses

There is much parallel between the five physical senses and the five spiritual sensing. As many of you know we have gates or openings where the enemy can come in if we allow him. There are seven gates to the body, which have to do with our senses.

Ear Gate-  Hearing-2
Eye Gate- Seeing-2
Nose gate- Smelling-1
Mouth Gate-Tasting-1
Feel Gate- Feeling-1

There are seven GATES IN THE PHYSICAL BODY

Deuteronomy 28:7; Isaiah 54:17; 59:19
Deut. 28:7 “The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out
against you one way and flee before you seven ways.

Is. 54:17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment ; You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.

 Is.58:19 So shall they fear ;The name of the Lord from the west, And His glory from the rising of the sun;
When the enemy comes in, like a flood The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.

The good news is that yes, there are seven ways the enemy can come in, but there are also seven ways he must flee, if we submit to God, and resist the enemy.

There are also five spiritual senses:

Five Spiritual Senses
1.     Spiritual Hearing- Matthew 11:15 “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

2.     Spiritual Seeing-  Hebrews 4:14Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession Matt. 13:14-15 Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive; 15For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears. John 6:36 “But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe.

3. Spiritual Smelling- Song of Solomon 2:13 The fig tree puts forth her green figs, And the vines with the tender grapes; Give a good smell. Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away! 2 Cor. 2: 15For we are unto God a sweet savor of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perisish

4. Spiritual Tasting-  Ps. 34:8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him.

5. Spiritual Feeling/Sensing- Acts. 27:9-10 Now when much time had been spent, and sailing was now dangerous because the Fast was already over, Paul advised them, 10saying, “Men, I perceive that this voyage will end with disaster and much loss, not only of the cargo and ship, but also our lives.

SOME OTHER SCRIPTURES FOR SPIRITUAL SENSES

1. SEE:
“But we SEE Jesus” (Heb. 2:9; Proverbs 20:12; Isaiah 6:1; John 20:29).
“LOOKING unto Jesus” (Heb. 12:1,2,14,15).
See also: Hebrews 3:9,12,19; 10:25; 11:13; 13:21.
2. HEAR:
“we give earnest HEED to the things HEARD” (Heb. 2:1; 4:7).
HEARING by and with FAITH (Heb. 4:2; Romans 10:17).
See also: Hebrews 1:1-13; 2:1-12; 3:1,7,13,15; 4:4,7,12; 5:9-11.
3. TASTE:
Eat and Drink (Heb. 5:13,14; 6:5-7).
Taste Grace instead of meat (Heb. 13:9; Psalm 34:8).
4. SMELL:
“Bearing His Reproach” (Heb. 11:26; 13:13; 2Corinthians 2:15,16).
A Sacrifice of Praise or Sweet Smelling Incense (Heb. 13:15-18).
See also: Exodus 29:18,25,41; 30:7; Revelation 5:8; 8:3,4).
5. TOUCH:
“Lay Hold” (Heb. 6:18; 1John 1:1).
“Embrace” (Heb. 11:13).

“The man who has ears to hear must use them” (Matthew 11:15, J.B. Phillips).

As I have said. Let us not be led by our five physical senses, but our five spiritual senses.

Do Not Be Led By Your Five Senses

1.) Don't look to the bigness of your need, look to the bigness of Your God.
2.) Your circumstances are hindrances to seeing His abilities.
3.) If you keep your eyes on your circumstances, the devil will use your circumstances to defeat you and accuse The Word of God-The Written and the Living Word.
4.) Your Victory is in keeping "Your Eyes" on the "Bigness of Your God and His ability."
5.) He has promised to take you Step by Step by Step, not all at once, but Step by Step by Step, and each step will be a "miracle."
6.)  The enemy knows if you keep your eyes on your circumstances, you will be trapped in this cycle of defeat."
7.) If you look to God and believe His Promises, you will endure and be Victorious over them!
