HEARING GOD
Yes, God is always speaking. Are we hearing Him? But, there is a secret to hearing His voice. It will not be heard above the excited babble and clamor of the crowd. And we are hearing the crowd now days more than ever, all kinds of opinions, liberal and conservative views, woke culture, cancel culture, conspiracy theories, etc. 1 Corinthians 14:10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of languages (voices) in the world, and none of them is without [a]significance. We hear it all truth and not truth. But there is only one Truth, The Word of God and the proceeding Word out of God’s mouth. Matt. 4:4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ” He will not shout to drown out other voices that noise to be heard. He waits till all other voices are quiet and you have to put away from your heart and mind all your own striving, and the noise of the multitude who shouts for your attention has completely died away. You must become insensible to the sound of all other voices and hear only the voice of His Spirit speaking to your spirit. There is a wonderful peace in silence. When your brain is wracked to a turmoil and you have examined every avenue for a solution to the exasperating problems that confront you only to find that your search leads you to greater confusion, it is time for silence and listening to the voice of Christ. He will speak and give His wisdom, but not until all other voices are silent and all other wisdom has become foolishness. "Be still and know that I am God". Then He breaks the bow, makes war to cease, cuts the spear asunder, burns the chariot in the fire, and is exalted among the heathen in all the earth.--Psalm 46. It was after the earthquake, the fire, and the terrific wind that Elijah wrapped his head in his mantle and listened to the still small voice of God. "He leadeth me beside still waters," wrote David. "Be still and know that I am God". Ps. 46:9-10 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariot in the fire. 10 Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! When God speaks to your heart, He will not simply help you decide between two or more opinions already in your mind. When He speaks it is revolutionary and the opinions of men are discarded for they are always contrary to His will. We will never find God building on the old foundations we have laid. He will throw down every stone and build a temple after His own order. Ex. Still hearing, speaking and teaching the law when we should be speaking and teaching grace. "God, who at sundry times and in different manners spoke unto our fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken unto us by His Son.” Heb. 1:1 God is always speaking. In the magnificence of Eden He walked and talked with Adam face to face until man through his shame and sin hid himself from the presence of God and from His voice. Yet, God found Him and still said to him, “Who told you , you were naked?” Gen.3:11 But, though man sins, still He seeks and still He speaks. Even the blood of murdered Abel, shed upon the ground and cried for vengeance, but God spoke to Cain, saying, “ If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is [a]for you, but you should rule over it.” Gen. 4:7. God’s voice is even heard by an unbeliever. Pilate’s wife had a dream about the trial of Jesus. Matt. 27: 19 While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, “Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him.” This is for those seeking to hear from the Lord. This can only occur when our human reasoning and carnal minds are ushered into quietness and then we began to hear the still small voice of the Lord. I hear the Lord speaking this way to me more often. He dwells within me by His Spirit and thus we have fellowship with each other. Many times, I hear His voice in my sleep, or even while I’m in a conversation, the Lord will speak from inside me. I get an unction from the Spirit and I act on that unction from the Lord. God is doing this more and more in His many brethren whom He chose in Christ before the world was ever formed. We were in Christ before creation and now we are hearing those same words He once uttered to us when we were with Him. Eph. 1:4, Gen. 1:26. Now, we are coming into our true identity as sons of God and have left the harlot/ legalistic systems of men and have gone outside the camp of man’s religion to follow the Lord. We know we hear God by his Rhema Word and by His own Word. Which is the same. Jesus Christ is the Word of God. Alao the word of God proceeding, now word , word out of the mouth of the true prophets. Here is the great wonder about hearing God, speaking His word, and acting upon it. The ear resembles the embryo.
So out of hearing God, speaking His word and acting upon it comes manifestation, a birthing. Heb. 11:3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. We hear a word from God; we speak it and then comes the manifestation. Of course, there is seedtime-------------------------------------------------------- harvest. Since we have already been given everything that pertains to life and godliness ( 2 Pet. 1:3) then it is just a matter of time. These are 4 principles for manifestation of a Word. Actually, these principles are foundational for receiving anything from God. 1. Hearing the Biblical Word of Truth on the Matter: Hearing a Word from God. 2. Believing in the HEART: Faith does not operate out of the head but from the heart. Faith comes into being when our spirit hears and believes the Word of God on the matter. Romans 10:8 says, "The word of faith is in your heart." 3. Confessing with the MOUTH: For faith to work from the heart, the mouth must cooperate by speaking, agreeing and performing. We can speak things with our mouth that are not motivated by faith, but living, biblical faith cannot fulfill its full function without the mouth speaking it. 4. Taking Corresponding Action: If we really believe something in our heart and are confessing it with our mouth, then we must take actions that are in alignment with what we are saying that we believe. We heard God from the beginning. 1 John 1: That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. 1 John 2:24 Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, you also will abide in the Son and in the Father. Helps in Hearing God’s Voice • God’s voice in our hearts sounds like a flow of spontaneous thoughts. Therefore, when I tune to God, I tune to spontaneity. • I must learn to still my own thoughts and emotions, so that I can sense God’s flow of thoughts and emotions within me. (Psalm 46:10),(II Kings 3:15 ),(Heb. 12:2) • As I speak, I fix the eyes of my heart upon Jesus, seeing in the spirit the dreams and visions of Almighty God. (Dan. 7:1,9,13), (Acts 2:1-4), (Heb. l0:19-22) • Write out of our prayers/ our speaking and God’s answers, provides a great new freedom in hearing God’s voice. (Heb. 4:10) Hearing God Scriptures: John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. Jeremiah 33:3 Call to me and I will answer you and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. John 8:47 Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.” Isaiah 30:21 And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. John 16:13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. John 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. Psalm 32:8-9 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding, which must be curbed with bit and bridle, or it will not stay near you. 1 Kings 19:11-13 And he said, “Go out and stand on the mount before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper. And when Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And behold, there came a voice to him and said, “What John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Hebrews 2:1 Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. Isaiah 30:19-22 For a people shall dwell in Zion, in Jerusalem; you shall weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry. As soon as he hears it, he answers you. And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide himself anymore, but your eyes shall see your Teacher. And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. Then you will defile your carved idols overlaid with silver and your gold-plated metal images. You will scatter them as unclean things. You will say to them, “Be gone!” Psalm 5:3 O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch. Hebrews 1:1-5 Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs. For to which of the angels did God ever say, “You are my Son, today I have begotten you”? Or again, “I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son”? 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, Galatians 3:5 Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith— Romans 8:16 The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, Isaiah 55:3 Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant, my steadfast, sure love for David. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Habakkuk 2:1-2 I will take my stand at my watchpost and station myself on the tower and look out to see what he will say to me, and what I will answer concerning my complaint. And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. Psalm 29:1-11 A Psalm of David. Ascribe to the Lord, O heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness. The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord, over many waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty. The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; the Lord breaks the cedars of Lebanon. ... Psalm 91:15 When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. Psalm 85:8 Let me hear what God the Lord will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints; but let them not turn back to folly. Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come into him and eat with him, and he with me. Hebrews 2:1-3 Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. For since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution, how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was declared at first by the Lord, and it was attested to us by those who heard, Acts 22:14 And he said, ‘The God of our fathers appointed you to know his will, to see the Righteous One and to hear a voice from his mouth; Job 36:22 Behold, God is exalted in his power; who is a teacher like him? Hebrews 1:1-3 Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, Hebrews 3:7-8 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness, 1 Samuel 3:1-10 Now the young man Samuel was ministering to the Lord under Eli. And the word of the Lord was rare in those days; there was no frequent vision. At that time Eli, whose eyesight had begun to grow dim so that he could not see, was lying down in his own place. The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the temple of the Lord, where the ark of God was. Then the Lord called Samuel, and he said, “Here I am!” and ran to Eli and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” But he said, “I did not call; lie down again.” So, he went and lay down. ...
