Set the Captives Free

Scripture References:

Read Jeremiah 25, 29, Haggai 1 & 2, Gal. 5:1, Rom. 8:15

Is there any captivity, bondages (individual, family, ministry, city, and nation)? Praise God for His plan for the future and the way out of any bondage. Let HOPE spring forth. Thank Him that He has an expected end. Your latter days shall be greater than your former. Clap your hands and shout to God with a voice of triumph. Thank Him for shaking the latter loose and a special release of your latter.

In the spiritual realm, Jesus explained that when people know the truth, the truth will set them free (John 8:32). Actually it is the truth you know that will set you free. He Himself is the Truth (John 14:6). Jesus also declared that if He, the Son of God, set persons free, they would be truly free (John 8:36). Sin enslaves; Christ sets free.

The Apostle Paul pointed out that the law, when not properly understood, also enslaves. A mechanical sense of compulsion to obey the law binds and restricts one’s freedom. Christ loosens the hold that the law has on Christians (Gal. 5:1, 13). Set free from sin, the believer is able to choose service for God (Rom. 6:22). Using the phrase "the Lord’s freedman," Paul emphasized the spiritual freedom that belongs to believers (1 Cor. 7:22). The spiritual freedom of others becomes the concern of those who have been set free by Christ.

Declare the setting free from captivity for your family, city, state, region and nation! Decree the shifting towards righteousness and justice.

Romans 8: 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

Gal. 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

Father, we thank you that corporately, together, we have the mind of Christ. Thank you for establishing Your mentality and Your way of thinking. We are learning to reproduce Your attitude and to release Your compassion. We governmentally decree what You have pre- ordained from eternity past. We declare “whom the Son has set free is free indeed.” Your freedom brings us out of captivity and out of bondage. So we release freedom and hope over ourselves, our families, our cities, and nations. We speak the Word of God upon all situations. We seek Your purposes. As we speak Your mind, we release angels to perform invisible functions that accomplish the Word. Thank You for hearing and answering, for commissioning and sending forth, for breaking bands of captivity. You came to set the captive free and we declare it to be so in Jesus name. Amen.
