HOLY IS HIS NAME

"Hallowed be thy name." The word translated as hallowed is hagiazo in Greek. It meanings include- to make holy, purify or consecrate, mentally to venerate, sanctify. The NAME of a thing it speaks of the NATURE of the thing. Our son has the family name, my husband's family name; he has his nature also! So when we put this all together, to HALLOW means to make holy, and His NAME speaks of His nature. Well it is obvious that His nature is ALREADY holy, yet Christ instructs us to pray "Hallowed be thy name." So what IS this all about?

Herein lies the answer. Just WHERE has He put His Name and His nature? He has put His Name and His nature in US! Yes, we have this Treasure- His Name and His nature- in earthen vessels. When we pray "Hallowed be thy name" we are praying that His holy, purified, consecrated, sanctified NATURE be established IN US! The book of Exodous spells it out as it declares, "Thou shalt not take the NAME of the LORD thy God (His NATURE) in vain..." (Exodous 20:7) I don't really believe this verse has much to do with "cussing", although bad language is distasteful to me. When I take on His Name, thus becoming His offspring, part of His family and His nature, it is not in vain!

Indeed, as His Name and His nature is hallowed IN US, it is not in vain as His Throne is accurately established in us.
Let us pray "Hallowed be thy name"- Your Righteousness, Your Sanctification, Your Ever-Presence, Your Judgment, Your Peace, etc. etc. Your holy, purified, consecrated, NATURE be established IN US!

As we said His name is His nature. As Revelation 3:12 SAYS “He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. And I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.

Isaiah 62:2 The Gentiles shall see your righteousness, And all kings your glory. You shall be called by a new name, Which the mouth of the Lord will name. The New Name God Gives to Us

The Lord gives us a new name--a new identity. Our total identity is wrapped up in our association with Him. As His children, we receive this new name. In walking in the new name, we are confident and strong, knowing who we are in Him. It is about the name that He has given to us (Revelation 3:12).

We can choose to walk in our "old name" or walk in the new that God has given. It is a picture of choosing to yield to the old man or the new man created in true righteousness in holiness (Ephesians 4:24). We are partakers of the divine nature through His promises (2 Peter 1:4).

Just as Saul received a new name from the Lord, the demons recognized him by his new name, the new divine nature--not the old. This is because Paul walked in the new name and life that God had given to him.

The New Name is the Mark of the Lord or the Mind of Christ. Philippians 2:1-11; Revelation 14:1; 1 Corinthians 2:16: Revelation 3:12

His servants shall serve him; and see his face; his name shall be in their foreheads - Revelation 22:3c,4

The redeemed enjoy perfect fellowship with God and the Lamb. On their foreheads, His Name, His nature.

The sold out, dead to self ones shall see His face; He will be visible to us. That is a present day reality.

His servants shall serve him; and see his face; his name shall be in their foreheads - Revelation 22:3,4.Oh, what a glad surprise! TRANSFIGURATION. - "His name shall be in their foreheads." The name of God is the totality of the Divine perfection and beauty, and the bearing of His name on their foreheads indicates that they are becoming like Him, while they see Him as He is. This is present day reality.

Several years ago I made a study of the names of God, the redemptive names and the attributes of God. You would be surprised how many there are!
