HOPE, AN EXPECTED END

Scriptural References: I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. (Hope) JER 29:11

For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Romans 15:4

"You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look about you and… rest in safety" (Job 11:18 NIV).

Rom. 4:16-18) Therefore it is of faith so that it might be according to grace; for the promise to be made sure to all the seed, not only to that which is of the Law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all(as it has been written, "I have made you a father of many nations") --before God, whom he believed, who makes the dead live, and calls the things which do not exist as though they do exist. For he who beyond hope believed on hope for him to become the father of many nations (according to that which was spoken, "So your seed shall be").

Hope makes us not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Rom 5:5

(Rom 15:13) Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

An Expected End (Hope) -There are 134 verses with the word hope in the NKJ. Hope can be: earthly. Rev.7:4, eternal, spiritual. Rom.15:4, heavenly. Rev.7:4. Hope in God. Pr 3:5 Is 26:3 (encouraged, promises). Job 13:15 (examples). T#352, 1 Pet. 1:21, Job 19:25 (full assurance of).
HOPE — confident expectancy. In the Bible, the word “hope” stands for both the act of hoping (Rom. 4:18; 1 Cor. 9:10) and the thing hoped for (Col. 1:5; 1 Pet. 1:3). Hope does not arise from the individual’s desires or wishes but from God, who is Himself the believer’s hope: “My hope is in You” (Ps. 39:7). Genuine hope is not wishful thinking, but a firm assurance about things that are unseen and still in the future (Rom. 8:24–25; Heb. 11:1, 7). Faith, Hope, and Love work together. (1Co 13:13) And now faith, hope, charity, these three remain; but the greatest of these is charity.

How does hope affect our praying? Something to ponder. We will continue with our focus on hope next week.

Father, I thank You for renewed hope. In Jesus name I declare order to our lives, ministries, finances, health and all things concerning us. I speak that my faith and your faith fail not. Father how I thank you that you sent your Son and the work that He did total completion on the cross. Jesus is the Author and the Finisher of my faith and your faith. I thank You that we are able to know you and who we are in you, that faith, hope and loves reside in us. There are so many benefits we could praise you forever and still find more to praise and thank You. We become carriers of the good news you have given us. Lord, thank You cover each of us with the blood of Jesus as we go about our lives and all our loved ones as well. In Jesus most matchless Holy and precious name Amen.
